Sunshine Cottage, built in 1787 and originally part of 'The Sun Inn' is situated in the conservation area (opposite an Inn and Restaurant) of Newbold Verdon on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border. Very close to Mallory Park Race Track (2m), Bosworth Battlefield (2m) Stoney Cove National Diving Centre (6m). East Midlands Airport and Donnington Park Race Track are a 30 minute drive away. Our high quality ensuite rooms with exposed original beams have all modern facilities for business or leisure stays, including free in-room wifi access and digital TV. A full traditional or continental breakfast is served in the farmhouse style dining kitchen using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Welcome to our family run Guest House. Our budget priced rooms are ideal for a one- off stay or for long term residency. The majority of our customers are contractors working for local businesses or people with early flights from East Midlands Airport which is located just 2 miles away. Our prices are on a room only basis due to our regular demand. We provide cooking facilities on each of our 3 floors for your own use. Each of our rooms offer en suite shower, colour tv, heating, towels and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a spacious car park at the rear. We are located just minutes away from East Midlands Airport, East Midlands Parkway, M1 and A42. We can also offer a special weekly rate. We can also offer long or short car parking stays for people using the airport, please ring for details and prices. Here at the Morton Guesthouse,, we are the ideal choice for realistically priced accommodation near the East Midlands Airport. Our guest house is located in Castle Donington, close to the famous Donington Park Motor Race Circuit, East Midlands Airport, Alton Towers, Drayton Manor Park and the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierpoint. Your hosts are upgrading the facilities and especially your all important breakfast. the breakfast menu can be seen on the website but two highlights are home made brown bread and comb honey from our own bees! There are two en-suite bedrooms which are in a separate building offering just that degree more of quietude. We are a non smoking establishment please note. We have on site parking for a limited number of vehicles so please do not ask to leave your car with us while you holiday as the answer is a no. We are pet friendly and will do our best to also accommodate your 4 legged friends. Sorry to say we cannot accommodate cats due to a serious allergy that Julie has. The guest house is situated on the main road through the village of Castle Donington. The village is minutes from the motorways M1, M42 and the new A50 link from the M1 to the M6. East Midlands Airport and Donington racetrack are just minutes away from the guest house. The cities of Nottingham, Leicester, and Derby are only a short drive away, and the nearest train station is Long Eaton. There is a 24/7 bus service to and from the East Midlands Airport with a stop just 350m from our door. This service leaves on the hour and half hour. The Guesthouse is well placed to explore the East Midlands scenic villages, as well as the famous Lace Market and castle in Nottingham City. Why not stroll in Sherwood Forest and imagine the Merry Men, Maid Marion and Robin Hood. Leicestershire has many fascinating places to discover and is also in the heart of the new and growing treasure, the National Forest. Try not to leave before sampling the world famous Melton Mowbray pork pies and of course Leicestershire Blue Stilton cheese.
